Advisable Finance Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 1, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Advisable Finance collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers:
- our website, www.advisable.finance;
- our advisor search app, app.advisable.finance, and the servers behind it;
- the Advisable Finance app in ChatGPT, once it is available;
- payments for advisor plans; and
- emails you send us or get from us.
"Advisable," "we," and "us" mean Advisable Finance, a sole proprietorship based in Brooklyn, New York. You can reach us at info@advisable.finance.
1. The short version
- We show public information about investment advisors that comes from the SEC.
- If you only search, we do not ask who you are.
- If you fill in a form, we keep what you typed so we can answer you.
- We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our sites. We do not send it your name, your email, or anything you type into a form.
- Stripe handles card payments. We never see your full card number.
- The ChatGPT app does not ask for your name, email, or chat history, and we do not save what you search.
- We do not sell personal information.
2. Public information about advisors
Our advisor and firm profiles come from public SEC records (Form ADV and the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure data). For individual advisors this includes name, CRD number, current firm, the states where they are registered, exams passed, professional designations, and employment history. For firms it includes name, CRD number, main office city and state, website, fee types, services, client types, and assets under management, as the firm reported them.
We do not add private information to these records. If something is wrong, the official record has to be corrected at the source, through the firm's filings with the SEC or FINRA. Our copy updates after the SEC publishes the change. You can also write to us at info@advisable.finance.
3. What we collect and why
- Form details. When you fill in a form on our website (claim a profile, notify me, partner interest, or contact us), we collect what you enter, such as your name, email, phone, credentials, specializations, your message, and whether you ticked the newsletter box. We use it to verify a profile claim, answer you, send updates you asked for, and send the newsletter if you opted in.
- Waitlist email. When you enter your email in the waitlist box on a profile page, we collect your email address. We use it only to tell you when booking opens. It goes to our server and to ActiveCampaign, our email provider. We do not send it to Google Analytics, and our server logs record that a signup happened, not your address.
- Search details. When you search on app.advisable.finance, we receive the ZIP code, name, CRD number, or filters you typed. We use them to show results.
- Technical data. When you visit our website or app, our servers and hosting providers receive your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that sent you, and the date and time. We use this to run, secure, and fix our services.
- Analytics. When you visit our website or app, Google Analytics collects cookie IDs, approximate location (city level, based on your IP address), the pages you view and the buttons you click, and any campaign tag in the link you followed. For example, it records that someone joined a waitlist, but not who they are. We use this to understand how people use our sites, for example how many visits come from ChatGPT.
- Payment details. When an advisor buys a plan, Stripe collects the payment details, such as name, email, billing details, and card details. We see the plan, the amount, the payment status, and the last 4 digits of the card, never the full card number. We use this to take payment, keep accounts and tax records, and provide the plan.
- Email. When you email us, we receive your address and what you write. We use it to reply.
- ChatGPT app data. See section 4.
We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or health information. Please do not include them in forms or messages.
4. The Advisable Finance app in ChatGPT
This section applies once the Advisable Finance app is available in ChatGPT. The app searches our copy of public SEC advisor data. It does not need an account and does not ask you to sign in.
What we receive when you use it:
- What ChatGPT sends to answer your request. For example, a ZIP code or "City, State" to search, filters such as how a firm is paid, a firm or advisor name, or a CRD number.
- Information ChatGPT may attach to the request. This can include an approximate location (city, region, country, time zone, and rough latitude and longitude) if your ChatGPT settings share it, your language setting, a general device or app type, and random IDs that OpenAI creates so a service can tell requests apart. These IDs do not tell us who you are.
- A network address. Requests come from OpenAI's servers, so we normally see OpenAI's address, not yours. The app has no in-chat window that loads anything from our servers in your browser. The app does not log network addresses.
What we do not receive: your name, email, phone number, your ChatGPT account details, or your conversation. We only see what ChatGPT sends for the specific search.
How we use it: only to answer that request. If you ask for advisors "near me" and do not name a place, we use the approximate location for that one search.
What we keep: we do not save your search terms, your location, or the IDs above. For each request, our servers keep a short technical log: which tool ran, how many results came back, how long it took, any error code, and the time. We keep that log for 30 days, and then it is deleted automatically. We use it only to keep the service working and to count overall usage.
Links: results link to our website and to the SEC's website. Links to our website include a tag that says the visit came from ChatGPT. If you click one, our website's analytics (section 3) applies to that visit. The SEC's website has its own privacy policy.
Your controls: you can turn off location sharing in ChatGPT, and you can disconnect the app at any time in ChatGPT's settings. OpenAI's privacy policy covers your conversations and your ChatGPT account.
The app does not show ads, does not track you across other sites or apps, and does not build a profile of you.
5. Cookies and analytics
Our website and app use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and collects the analytics data described in section 3. Google processes this data for us. We do not use Google Analytics to show you ads. You can block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our sites still work if you do.
6. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with companies that help us run Advisable, and only for that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services hosts our app and servers, keeps our server logs, and will host the ChatGPT app.
- Webflow hosts our website and stores website form submissions.
- Google provides analytics and our email.
- Stripe processes payments.
- ActiveCampaign stores waitlist and newsletter emails and sends those emails.
- OpenAI runs ChatGPT, which passes your app requests to us.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business. A buyer would have to follow this policy.
When an advisor buys a plan, we do not give that advisor any information about people who searched for them.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
7. How long we keep it
- Profile claim and form details: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
- Waitlist and newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Server logs for our website and app: up to 90 days.
- ChatGPT app request logs: 30 days.
- Google Analytics data: for the retention period set in our account, which is no more than 14 months.
- Payment and tax records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally up to 7 years.
- Emails with us: up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
8. Your choices and rights
- Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to us.
- See, correct, or delete your information: email info@advisable.finance and tell us what you want. We will answer within 30 days. We may need to confirm it is you first.
- Advisor profiles: profile facts come from public SEC records, so the official correction is made at the source (section 2). If you have claimed your profile, you can ask us to change anything you added.
- ChatGPT: see section 4.
- Depending on where you live (for example, California), you may have more rights under your state's law, such as the right to know what we have about you or to have it deleted. We will not treat you differently for using them.
9. Children
Our services are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited access. No system is perfectly secure.
11. Where your data is stored
Our own servers are in the United States. Some of our service providers may process data in other countries, under their own safeguards.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will post a notice on our website.
